My role: High-level UX design and layout (wireframes, spec)

Slingplayer Desktop for Mac OS and Windows lets Slingbox owners watch and control their television on their personal computer, from any location with a good internet connection.

Sling's previous desktop solution had been browser-based, but that solution was starting to become unwieldy when Chrome, Safari and Firefox changed the types of plugins they would support.

This introduced an opportunity to improve the interface. Taking cues from customer requests as well as innovations we'd made in our flagship iPad app, I created the initial wireframes that the final design was ultimately based on - including improved playback controls, channel guide and favorites sections, and device settings.
